Flight information will air on cable television

Real-time flight arrival and departure information from the Colorado Springs Airport now is available on the city-run Channel 18 on the Adelphia cable television system.

The information is the same that is on the flight information display system monitors in the airport passenger terminal and on the airport’s Web site. The information is updated every 60 seconds by individual airlines and is displayed hourly on Channel 18.

Flights are displayed on the system several hours before scheduled arrival or departure.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Vanguard Airlines Inc., the struggling discount carrier, has revised its application for a loan guarantee from the federal government.

The new application cuts the percentage of the loan that would be guaranteed and also offers the government the potential to buy a stake in the airline, Vanguard said late Thursday.

The changes were requested by the Air Transportation Stabilization Board, a unit of the White House Office of Management and Budget established under a new law aiming to help airlines that have suffered losses related to the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks and don’t have other access to reasonable credit.

The announcement did not say what percentage of the $60 million loan Vanguard wants as part of a restructuring plan would be guaranteed under the revised application.

Vanguard began service out of the Colorado Springs Airport this week.
