African Business - Aviation: top up your tank in Lusaka
Spooked by international airlines cutting flights to Lusaka in the face of rising international oil costs, the Zambia government is offering a 5% discount on jet fuel. The cutback in flights comes as several commercial airlines complained that Zambia’s high aviation price was making the route unprofitable.
Interrupted flight schedules would have serious economic consequences for farmers who depend on regular flights to export their crops of flowers, fresh fruit and vegetables to European markets.
